Different Party Theme Ideas To Try

A common question when throwing a party is what theme to use. Ultimately it depends on the guests’ interests as well as the guest of honor, but the host may not have good party theme ideas. Thankfully there are some basic themes that can work if people are interested in it.

Do the guests like video games? If so, why not throw a video game theme party? Tell your friends to bring multi-player games. Put posters of video game characters up. Everybody knows about Mario, so he should be somewhere. This party should have a game tournament. Prizes are not necessary as he guests do not expect to pay to enter.

Perhaps the guests like the fantasy genre. If that is the case, then one of my favorite party theme ideas is to bring out the Dungeons and Dragons books and possibly some tools to LARP (live action role-play) with. Do not go overboard. There is a fine line between nerd and loser.

Sci-fi can make an interesting party theme. All one needs to do this is come up with as many sci-fi themed games as possible. Pin the chip on the super-computer, a pinata shaped like a broken computer, anything will work.

Sports parties, if timed with an important sports game, are good for the fans of the teams playing. Be prepared for fights and get ready to resolve them. Do not have any alcohol unless everyone there is over 21. Do not let anyone who had alcohol drive. If you don’t want alcohol, only drink out of what you brought yourself. People tend to spike drinks at parties.

If you are throwing a party for a child, try using his or her favorite show as a theme. You’d be surprised how happy a simple party based on a favorite TV show can make someone. Remember to keep every child at the party supervised by someone you trust. The last thing you want is someone to get hurt.

These simple ideas are perfect party theme ideas to get started on a simple party. Before doing anything complicated, it is best to start with easy themes. Remember this and your parties will be remembered by all of the guests.

During the hot summer days it sure seems that every body begins to remove the covers from the barbecue grills and cooks up some steaks, hot dogs and hamburgers. However, there are other ways to enjoy the summer with something a little different like having a Luau party and with that in mind there are some wonderful Luau party ideas.

You can start by putting up some tiki torches all in the surrounding party venue. Then you can set up a few hammocks just a short distance away from the area where the action is taking place. Then decorate a buffet table with some grass table skirts. This will add such an Hawaiian touch.

Place a candle in the center of each and every table designed of candles and colorful flowers. And the make the table even more tropical by placing some plates with a tropical look. You can go out and rent a portable dock or even a pier which you can put right at the entrance of the backyard with a large fancy sign welcoming everyone to your little Luau party.

Now you can add some music for everyone’s listening pleasure like some pop tunes or you can go classic with some beach sounds. If that is not what you wish then one of the best luau party ideas is to choose some traditional Hawaiian or tropical music that has plenty steel drums along with some ukuleles too. This will certainly add some tropical feeling to everyone who attends the party.

Serve some fruit cocktails, such as pina coladas, mai tais and also try some banana daiquiris. You can also serve a lot of iced tea, fresh fruit shakes and lemonade. You can also try serving a fruit platter with oranges, mandarins, orange slices, chopped bananas, pineapple cubes, and apples. When it comes to meats, try grilling up some kebabs and also roast some chicken too. And do not forget some seafood like shrimp cocktails, grilled salmon and crabs and lobsters too.

Be sure that the men wear some Hawaiian shirts with some type of bright prints and shorts pants and as for the women they can wear grass skirts over top of their short pants. If you want to you can make fake leis for all to wear.

Coming up with good kids party ideas are crucial when planning for a children’s party can be a little nerve wracking especially for a busy parent. Some parents want to choose a special theme for the party. For example for boys, a strong theme would be “Super Heroes” or something along that line. For a girls theme, it could be a “Cinderella” or “Barbie” style party. Of course, each theme is based on the age group of kids. There is a tremendous amount of information available for kids party ideas and themes to choose.

When planning a party you need to see if there will be boys and girls at the party or strictly one or the other. The best party, a parent can imagine is one that can be held outdoors, weather permitting. This allows for the kids to do the normal things kids want to do such as run, jump, and carry on like children. An outdoor setting, such as a park would be agreeable but of course requires plenty of adult supervision.

Games are the main part of any party, so naturally your best kids party ideas center around these. Games will keep the kids busy and most likely take up the greatest portion of the party. There are the usual older games such as “pin the tail on the donkey” or the “pinata”. More parents are opting for games like “treasure hunts” or “scavenger hunts” breaking the kids into groups giving the game a team spirit atmosphere.

Pool parties are also an excellent idea along with a small cook out or prepared food. Of course, any time a pool is involved you will surely require a dedicated pool guard to keep the children safe. Also, children love sleep-over parties just be prepared to stay up part of the night listening to laughter and horsing around.

When it comes to a children party, food is probably the last thing on their mind. Of course, if it is a typical birthday party, cake and ice cream naturally fits the bill quite nicely otherwise as reference prior, a small cook-out works well. For the parent that does not want to deal with the work, you can always order out for pizza, or favorite-food children want, without a great deal of expense.

When planning a childrens party a parent can find most everything to plan the party in one place such as a party store or online website. This would include party theme, decorations, games, and most anything you would need. These are just a few suggestions when looking for kids party ideas, there are a number of party planners that can help an extremely active parent to have a highly successful kids party.

Simple And Fun Hawaiian Party Ideas

There are many Hawaiian party ideas that are simple to arrange and are lots of fun. A Hawaiian party is also referred to as a Luau with a surf shack as its center piece. To get the best effect, why not hold your party on the beach in the summer or at the local park?

Traditionally, the main feast for a Luau is roast pig. It does not have to be difficult to prepare though. If you buy some pork fillet and grill it on the barbecue, this will do just fine. At Hawaiian parties, people usually serve platters of bananas, watermelon and pineapple too. Cakes and nuts are also found at the table.

You can add an interesting dessert containing barbecued bananas to the table for your guests to enjoy. With a knife, slit the inside of the banana half open, leaving the skin on, squeeze small pieces of chocolate inside and cover with foil. Once grilled, the chocolate will melt inside the banana.

One of the great Hawaiian party ideas is to add some themed games. Limbo competition, hula hoop to see who is the fittest of them all, and bowling using coconut as the bowl and pineapples as the pins are all typical well known Hawaiian party games.

As for the drinks, you should hire a professional cocktail maker to shake up the drinks from the bar. If your budget will not allow for this, then come up with cocktail menus for your guests to make their own special Hawaiian Heartbreakers. Do not forget the little umbrellas to top off the drinks.

Finally, the music has to be organized. You could choose the usual selection of current party music, or look into recording some great Hawaiian tunes for your guests. As long as the music and the drinks are included in your party, everything else will take care of itself!

These Hawaiian party ideas should get you started but there are a lot of other fun things you can do to make your party a hit.
